
MD-82 Aircraft Procured and Teardown – MSN 49973 | LZ-LDP
MSN 49973, registered as LZ-LDP, is a McDonnell Douglas MD-82 aircraft formerly operated by European Air Charter. The aircraft was procured, legally transferred, and subsequently dismantled by NEDAVION Aerospace B.V. as part of its ownership-driven aircraft asset program.
At the time of removal from service, the aircraft was configured with JT8D series engines and equipped with a GTCP85-98DHF APU, supporting controlled disassembly and redistribution of serviceable material into the active MD-80 aftermarket.
Ownership and teardown execution
Following procurement, MSN 49973 was inducted into a structured part-out program. Teardown activities were executed in October 2024, with component removal and segregation performed under controlled conditions and with full traceability maintained throughout the disassembly process.
