MSN 53228, registered as LZ-LDM, is a McDonnell Douglas MD-82 aircraft that was procured, legally transferred, and subsequently dismantled by NEDAVION Aerospace B.V.. The aircraft was formerly operated by European Air Charter and was selected for teardown following its retirement from commercial service.

Following procurement, the aircraft entered a controlled part-out program focused on traceable disassembly and redistribution of serviceable material into the global MD-80 aftermarket.
Ownership and teardown execution
After procurement, MSN 53228 was inducted into teardown activities. The aircraft was dismantled on site in Varna, Bulgaria, with teardown operations executed in the beginning of February 2024. Component removal, segregation, and identification were performed under controlled conditions, with traceability preserved throughout the disassembly process.
